The Path

Darkness lurks in the distance

Encompassing life’s fate

There lays two broken, crooked paths

Rugged and drenched in danger

The path of knowledge

There is no choice

Just twists and turns

On this edgy road

There’s no clear view

There’s no security

There’s no true way to move

The path starts as one

But then branches off

Into isolated vapors

Nothing is clear

There is no help

Just a mist of confusion

The rocky road is like a dagger

Based on wrong decision

Where is the guide

Where is the light

Where is the sacred haven

My God, my teacher

Where can they be

The pouring rain is blinding

I trip, I fall, I can’t get up

The heavy stones are jabbing

Please help me up

Light the path

Guide me to the future

Pick up the sticks

Cease the rain

Make it clear and simple

You made it storm too hard

You made the path too long

You forgot the explanation

But now’s the chance to set it right

And lead me to my chosen ending

The twists and turns may be tough

But I’m forever yearning

I like the challenge

But you need to help

With my fate through learning
