The Path

Behind these blue eyes
I gaze upon the modern world
Beneath these two feet
I march along the worn path

I stumble on the roots of the dying tree
I fall on the exposed rocks
The blood dripping from my scarred knees
I pick myself up
And with my head down
I continue along the over worn path

Day after day
Night after night
The path twists and turns
The landscape eroding
Trees dying
Rocks falling
Then...

The sun breaks the horizon
I reach the summit
Revealed
A blank canvas
A field
That has not yet been tattered by the human hand
That has not been exploited by the modern man
Left to the dreamer
The trailblazer
To me
To roam the field
To create my own path

This path I create
Spins and swirls
Across the world
Learning from the beliefs of people who surround me
Learning from this new worlds around me

And with these blue eyes
I look to the future
Never to look back
I walk with these two tired feet
On the path that I create
And with my head held high
I Learn from the broken trail behind me
