The Path

Step Wobble One foot in front of the other Thorns prick at your feet Arms reaching at 90 degrees Trying to keep your balance Arm under yours Suddenly holding you up Along the straight and narrow Lifting you slightly Your feet still take the weight Time wears you down You collapse into the brambles Arms pick you up Carry you along Until you can stand Again With arms under yours It doesn’t stop the pebbles Doesn’t stop the pain But it eases your burden You don’t have to walk alone You are never alone With arms under yours
