A Path

We are never told how grueling it will get. As we walk down the road of fret and regret, We come across the cigarette ashes and broken bottles thrown By those with broken pasts; we walk all alone. The glass cuts our feet and the ash burns the soles We grow callous and cruel; we strive for control In the dark, we will stumble and fall to the ground But daylight will rise and wake us up with sweet sounds Our lives may be different, but the similarities are strange We can all pick ourselves up and grow better through change Life is like music; do not wait for the song to fade Dance and sing while the music is being played Enjoy those summer nights and Christmas lights Bask in the thunder that booms with all its might For this is life. It is beautiful. And we are never told how lovely it will get.
