The Path

Either left or right, the girl could not choose

A road that seemed pleasant; yet shadowed by hues

The other lane wretched and smothered with fear

Yet a light at the end indeed sure appeared

Weighing her options; pacing side to side

The paths yet before her jumbled in her mind

Love on the left; hate on the right

The girl took her step; the light won this fight

And as she proceeded further and further

The darker the light surely endeavored

Did she make a mistake? Should she have gone right?

Pondering now will not end this blight

Running and sprinting, the girl did turn back

Only to have reality hit her. Smack!

Again she came back to these two dreaded paths

These two hopeless paths that made me but laugh
