The Path I've Made

As I come to realize that life will slow

I turn and look at the path I’ve made

At first I see the most recent changes

The new bricks I’ve laid or the stone that's settled

The farther I look back the more it blends

Unable to tell where one brick starts,

And the other ends,

It’s funny to me how unable I am

To remember the brick that started it all

So I stretch my eyes and still can’t see

How so long ago I started this path.

No brick is perfect and this I know

But as I look back...

As far as I search

It all forms together

To make not one brick or two

No...

All I see is the path I have made

And it’s a little crooked but that's ok.
