The Path That Leads to Nowhere

There’s a place that leads to nowhere
In a meadow that I know,
Where the leaves beneath my feet are heard,
And the breeze is soft and dry.
There are wonders under willows
And beneath the silver green
Of the birches’ silent shadows
Where the early violets lean.

Other pathways lead to somewhere,
But the one I love so well
Has no end and no beginning
Just the beauty and the dell,
There the wild flowers and the daisies
Yellow bursts of sun shine’s rays,
Seem to guide my pathway
As each flower leads the way.

There I go to meet the seasons,
Where the meadow is aglow,
Mosses amid the grey marshes,
And the streams are still and slow;
There I find my fair oasis,
And with carefree feet I tread
In the path that leads to nowhere,
As the sky is overhead.

All the ways that lead to somewhere
Echo the hurrying feet
Of the struggling and the striving,
But the way I find so sweet
Bids me dream and bids me linger.
Joy and beauty are its goal;
On the path that leads to nowhere….
I have often found my soul.

I really love nature walks. Helps to clear the mind, renew energy, spark ideas, and to reflect on and develop the one's inner self.
