The Path of Love

February 11th, 2018

Dear Love,

I walk down your path

I find my friends and family

But there is someone foreign

Unknown and unexpected

A new kind of love

One that is not just expressed through words

But shown with actions

Not like getting kisses from your grandma

But an intimate affection

It’s as if cupid hunted and shot me right in the heart

Like I was the deer being hunted

This love makes you realize things like

I’m half full, not half empty

And love feels like you work on a puzzle but something is missing

And then you finally find that last piece

Making that puzzle complete, whole, and worthy

You become so euphoric

As if you found the one

And life has no limits

But you start to wonder

How could someone love you so much

When you’re so uncoordinated

He stares into your eyes with compassion

Time starts flying

And when you are with him

Hours spent feels like one second

And when you are not with him

It feels as if you haven’t seen him in years

But love is not just diamonds and roses

It is like running then falling

And scraping your face on the cold concrete floor

You come to understand there are differences

And that you can’t stay together no more

And it stings like an open wound doused with acid

You never knew how loving someone could be so hard

You hold on for one more chance just to be with them

But eventually it might not even happen

Sure, love feels comforting and nice

But it also comes with thorns and spikes

But be mindful

This is only my perspective

The most unique part about love is

It’s different for everyone

Sincerely,

My emotions
