The Path We Take

All of us want something. But what is it were chasing? Is it just the feeling of completing a long journey? Or are we all competing in one big tourney? Oh this life, hard as it seems Our actions backed by hopes and dreams Picking sides on pointless things Themes of dreams creating teams We lean towards this and protest that But why is it we choose attack? When we return to the homes we dwell, Most likely well attack ourselves And wonder if life is well spent Or if were simply just content? I was one to chase a goal But life is but a totem pole Fighting others to achieve great wealth But the only competition is yourself See everything seems all set in stone But think next time when youre alone, "Am I doing what I want? Or is it for more wealth to flaunt? Is it expressing my feelings out loud? Or just to make my parents proud?" Dont beat yourself up,be sure of this Next time you feel your goals were missed None are alike, were like snowflakes Its a matter of simply The Path We Take
