The Path as You Climb

Stutter, step, stammering my way into the every day

Tripping over holes fixing up the hiccups

Busting out this sentence is causing me to think

That this fence is consequence to every move I make

They know I'm thinking outside because the outside may be greater

Still I'm waiting trying to figure should I leave or read the paper

Once I was a woman in love, he loved me too

In fact, that's counterfactual

The love we had was bad

Just an investment in my pockets until he got what he had

Then he'd go on telling stories

Spin them up like he knew me

I greet them back, generosity

There's always something greater if you open up your mind

To the elements that surround you and light the path as you climb

The path as you climb

The path as you climb

The problems we face everyday mold us into the people we are. I just want to better myself. To make a difference.
