Pathway

Oh what a world, what a world

famous words

spoken by an infamous one

and she

being unusual and not the typical sort

is known to be evil and cruel

But is she really?

Perhaps

it is merely our perception

Perhaps

there is more to her

than the simple reflection

in the eye of the beholder.

Maybe

just maybe

she is caught

trapped

entangled in a web of lies and deceit

longing for truth

struggling for freedom

wanting to right her wrongs

and undo what has been done

reverse time

and become her innocent self once again.

But she cannot

for she is spellbound

entranced

she allowed herself to slip down the wrong path

and follow the darkside

something she swore she would never do

something she has seen happen to so many before her

and then watched them destroy themselves

and all those who they love and hold dear

and forever condemn themselves

to the everlasting

burning

Labyrinth
