The Patient

Struggle

It’s the only thing I’ve known

For as long as I can remember

The older I get the more control I gain

This is my body

I will not allow two small pill bottles to define me

I am more than my diagnosis

I am a human being behind that medical chart

This will not control me

This is no longer a game

This is real
