Patriarch

Patriarch,

I was searching for an everlasting bond,

Where paradise’s pasture was eternally green.

But in the end, I found myself going back

to frigid waters.

There I drown my sanity,

Casting it beneath tumultuous waves,

Holding it,

Until every ounce of will left my soul.

And I’m only left to blame for this agony.

Now at this altar once again,

Sleepless from the fear manifesting

in my mind,

Reminiscing on all my past failures as

I drink deeply from this flask of misery,

Faintly weeping for salvation,

Praying to deaf ears to absolve me

from my sins.
