The Patriot

Who is he who protects our life?

The patriot, whom we often disregard

Why? His honor and love so rife

Living in a world of pure strife

The patriot gives all

Who is he who protects our life?

He protects not only just his wife,

But of all the people of his country

Why? His honor and love so rife

Images and experiences stick life a knife

We say "never forget" but most days we do

Who is he who protects our life

His training to the sound of a fife

Now he walks through the sound of blasts

Why? His honor and love so rife

When he returns, he is forced to live a slow life

He can no longer fit in with society

Who is he who protects our life?

Why? His honor and love so rife
