Pattern Play

Sun splashes across glass

leaves interlace, shadows form

and play

etched in my mind, traced on the page

layer upon layer my, never ending search

for color and light and patterns

the world through a prism, eternal kaleidescope

with each turn a brilliant, new display

eyes open, heart pounding, patterns at play

circles within circles, lines criss crossing

feeding my soul
