Pavement

It’s just me And the pavement My sneakers pounding away on the scorching asphalt The rubber grinding on Every turn It’s just me And the pavement Emptying my mind Erasing my worries with Every step It’s just me And the pavement Hot blood twisting through my veins Urging me to keep going in Every part It’s just me And the pavement Wanting to stop but Still accomplishing Every gasp Every dream Every hope Every thought Racing through my mind It’s just me And the Pavement.
