Peace

If we could learn

To blend neutrality with elevation,

Predispositions shed, the callouses born

From an instrument that won’t be tuned;

To let fear settle and still,

Realness replanted in the quick of bitten

Nails that can now grow back;

To acknowledge wrong notes

That existed to prove the right ones;

To swallow the void because it never

Really intended to swallow us.

To tell our children, “Jump, when the time is right,

Solid ground exists only where you choose to stand.”

To no longer turn away from the knowledge

That we DO affect;

To let the scale even;

To dive like taking flight;

Let existence rise again;

Give it all away;

Being was written long before you and I became…

If we could learn.
