Peace

The world is loud,

So boisterous and rough.

Sometimes, on the worst of days,

I cannot hear myself.

My mind shuts down, as I'm lost

In the arguments or jokes

And I can't think.

However,

When I am alone,

And pen brushes paper,

The world is quiet.

I am quiet.

Even if it's just for a little while,

It's bliss.
