Peace has no persistence
There is a distinct conciliation
that envelopes you
as you watch the snowfall
through the
window blinds.
A gentle anonymity
that endears
your very soul.
The frozen limbs creak
loudly, the townspeople
retreat back to
their barren
homes.
The vacant
streets call
your name.
But, the feeling
slowly
burns away like
the mornings
first fog;
Happiness
never does last
long.
