Peace of Mind

I look around for myself. I see a blur.
"Where are you?" I scream as I cry to myself alone in my dark, cold room.
You see, society shaped me into this. It gave me the mind of a soldier at war. Never peace of mind.
I miss the time of age where I was not anybody or somebody's.
I was just a little girl finding butterflies out by the pond behind my old, dusty home.
I miss finding beauty in the trees, seeing my mother smile, my daddy's laugh, hearing my uncle jokes.
Time takes away your sweet peace of mind, but is it really gone or is it hiding behind the tremendous society lies? Shall I know or shall I try to go back to the memories and once again find my peace of mind.
