Peace's Lament

There's a song in my heart

A melody so sweet

Drowning in the sounds of turmoil and shouting in the streets

There's a light in my soul

Trying to shine bright

Hidden in the storms of our fragile hearts' plight

Hate is the elixir of discontent

As stones of righteousness are flung

Burning into the night, love's funeral pyre has begun

There’s a bittersweet prayer on the lips of hope

That grace might awaken soon

For in her slumber, hate and righteousness have eloped

In the womb beats a heart, soon to see the light

Maybe a chance at a fresh start

Perhaps to see, that no one’s is wrong when everyone’s right......
