PEAK OF THE MOUNTAIN

In the beginning, the world remains silent. I look up to the sky, to see the peak of the mountain. Everyone waves goodbye, as I begin the journey. Some give me the ammo, I need to reach my purpose. Some believe, I won't make it to the peak, at the end of the journey. Only through death. Or through a snow bunny. As I begin the climb, my soul runs cold. There's no turning back now. This is all she wrote. I turn to look down, and see nothing but death Below. But my focus is up, I should be looking for my peak. Don't turn around now, this is it. The higher I become, the more lonely I get. I started thinking about the good times, I should never forget. But as I start to reminisce, my foot starts to slip. Almost falling into the depths, I get a grip. Like something was telling me to stay focused, because this is it. My purpose of being alive was in the grip. The higher I became, the more proud I become. As I second guess my reign, an avalanche is soon to come. As I get closer to the peak, my rope begins to astray. I see another rope, from a hand grip away. I jump and grab the rope, as my soul slips away. I say that was close, as continuing as I did. It was dark and foggy through the climb to the peak. I started doubting myself, saying I was weak. That I couldn't do it, this is not me. As those words came out, I got angry through my emotions. I pushed as hard as I could, until I saw the sun rise from the summit. I reach the peak with no injuries. The sun speaks to me. Telling me you can do anything. You are the flame in me. I turn around, looking to the ground, taking a deep breath. As I took my third breath, I jumped off the edge, knowing this could be it, I grab my crucifix, and close my eyes. Once I did, I begun to fly, like an angel in the sky.
