Peaks to Sand

Sweet Virginia
Mountain wind
It seems these weeks
Will never end
I hope one day
These hills of blue
Will open wide
And sing to you
As once before
They sang to me
And I came running
Like a breeze
But now I'm here
And oh so cold
I feel the mountains
Growing old
And I just wish
To run away
Before the night
Keeps me at bay
But in slips dark
And gives me chills
I wander far
Lost in these hills
I used to think
My mind is free
I haven't changed
I'm lost at sea.
