The Pearl
She once had a pearl
Which made her heart twirl
I could not understand why she cared so much of this pearl
The bruises on her skin confused me as her eyes twinkled with hope
I still could not understand how she acts this way
However I am distracted by the string wrapping her neck
The pearl sits calmly on her collarbone, as if it belonged there
Her hands however bare, no ring in sight
I ask her why and the topic seems to put her in a fright
She proceeded to tell me how he does not treat her right
And the story on how the pearl saved her life.
Before her mother died, she gave her this pearl
She said the pearl thrives from an injured life
A tiny grain of sand forming into a lustrous shine
She is illuminated with beauty and worth
Which made her realize, she must be fine
