The Pearl of the World
The man in the black cloak stared
As she woke up, feeling scared.
"Are you ok?" he asked, "You're from a different time,
You probably don't remember me, I ran out on a dime."
"What do you want with me?" asked the pretty girl,
"You and I must save the world, by stealing a precious pearl."
And off they went, the unlikely pair as they traveled the unruly land.
Soon they came across a bend as the pearl was close at hand.
Their pace picked up faster, and they ran and ran.
Through the shade of night,
They crossed a quiet village, covered all in white.
There were no people there, the end has begun
They ran throughout the night, into the morning sun.
The girl had a strange feeling, like this has happened before,
but when she tried to recall it, it wasn't there no more.
She then soon realized where her lost memories were:
With the unknown man, who was traveling with her.
"I want them back I need to remember."
"I can't let you see what happened this December."
"So I'm from the future? I should know what happens next?"
"It is said you would; it's written in ancient text.
Now we must go to save the world, we might run out of time"
At last they reached the place, where the pearl was kept in slime.
They walked right in, and she was surprised, no one was there to defend it.
The unknown man stuck his hand in slime to retrieve the pearl
But screamed in pain as his hand burned away and another secret unfurled
"The slime will burn everyone except you," the man said to her
So she tried to get it, and she wasn't harmed.
But the world then went into chaos, completely unarmed.
"Hand it to me and we'll save the world"
She did and it was a mistake, greed and power took control
So now she has to get it back; that was her new goal.
She had an idea, a glimmer of hope, as she picked up the slime
She threw it at him, and he burned up on the spot.
The pearl was now safe, and she had realized his plot.
He meant to control the world, using the mysterious pearl.
Now she decided that she must guard it, from evil just like him.
And so she did, forevermore, a job most terribly grim.
