Pearly Teeth

The glossy women with pearly teeth

who knows what thoughts lie beneath

staring blankly back at me

Taut tummies and slender thighs

in huge red letters it cries

burn fat, summer body, stay chic

But right underneath those words it coos

stay true

love your body

love your curves

love you

I flip the pages in front of the mirror

The messages hitting nearer and nearer

yet at the same time getting less clear and less clearer
