The Pen

They say the pen is mightier than the sword, But how can literature fight our wars? They say the pen is mightier than the sword, But do our enemies fear our writings, or do they just get ignored? The pen is mightier than the sword, I guess After all, revolutionary writers definitely do impress. The pen is mightier than the sword, I guess I mean, warrior’s emotions had to come from somewhere, more or less. The pen is mightier than the sword, I see What else could inspire such action in a fight for liberty? The pen is mightier than the sword, I see Any man can fight for anything, but only words will make him think. If another terrible war should ever strike, And innocent people lose their lives, Yes, it would be because of the bomb, bullet, and blade, But also because of the pen. The pen is mightier than the sword, I know Because words too, will break your bones.
