A Pen and a Sheet of Paper

A pen and a sheet of paper.

You can either draw or write.

My parents told me to draw, as it seemed right.

But I did not see this as labor.

It was something to savor.

Now I sit in a wooden desk and a blue chair.

Writing away as I feel that I shouldn't breathe air.

I sit back to look over words that I slaved over.

Only to think that my work isn't sober.

But I do not see this as labor.

It is something to savor.
