This Pencil

I cherish this pencil

this lovely utensil

with which I can write my mind

I can scream!

Or wonder…

Question?

You see?

How that just happened?

When all it took

was the dance of a stick

to make it so

that the author of my brain

can write down my train

cars of thought barrels

and crate moments

And because of this led

cerebral hunger can be fed

And the world may peek

at the maze of my psyche

And their eyes may widen

or squint

or roll

at this outrageous

contagious

infinite playlist

that lives on my shoulders

weighs me down like boulders

But when epiphanies hit

and my nails have been bit

I know this pencil

or any utensil

Will untangle the wires

If only

for the time being
