For a penny is just a token,
Thoughts can cost a fortune.
Though words are only spoken
They can make hearts be broken.
For a penny, what can be bought?
Words that are spoken start where?
Each word begins in thought.
Where are thoughts but in the air to be caught?
Words start here,
In a place where some might fear.
The effect the size of a tear,
Can make some people cheer.
For a penny what is bought?
For a penny what is sought?
Something that can be taught,
A penny for a thought.
