Pensive

Here above the clouds, I'm left to my thoughts.

My headphones a haven, a shield for my heart.

The lyrics soaking deep in my mind,

Synonymous with what I feel inside.

Everything becomes clear and time moves slow.

The clouds pass and change, they're so low.

I gaze out the window, face hidden by my hood.

I revel in the stillness, I revel in solitude.

Thinking of the world, thinking of me.

The issues mean nothing, so it may seem.

How does God feel looking down at us?

Are the issues in society worth the fuss?

I gaze inward, am I as complex?

Emotions so strong that even words cannot express.

Everything is so simple looking down on the world,

But reality once again unfurls.
