People

If there was one thing that I could change in this world

It would not be my laugh or which way my hair swirled

It would not be my allowance or my neighbor named Earl

It would not be my president or the sound of a hurl

But what I would change would not just benefit me

It would benefit all from sea to shining sea

I think that most can agree

When I say that changing the way people see

Might be worth more than we perceive

If I changed the way people see, act, and talk

Maybe one day a new door would unlock

And people will see that despite their outsides

We are all still people within these divides
