People

I’m sick of all the differences

That tear us all apart

I’m sick of all the people and their minds and crooked hearts

How can they love the people that are like them all the same

But cannot love the people who are different

created their own way

And we are all still people and we cry and feel in ways

Only that all the pain we feel stems from not the same

I question all the murderers and racists and their lives

What tears them down at night

and do they ever cry

I question more the ignorant and do they know they hurt

Innocent living souls

Who are just trying to get by

Trying to feel fulfilled and live out happiness before they die

Why do we tear each other down when life is hard enough

Why make a spectacle of our differences

when we are all just trying to be

Good enough

It hurts me in the way you speak

You hurt me with your tongue

It brings up insecurities i’ve had since I was young

The wounds I have only from people being just like you

I wonder if you comprehend the the hurt you bring

Or if you never even knew
