People need People

I felt stronger than ever before

My head was clear and high

A smile was cemented on my face

I felt comfortable

My ears were filled with laughter

A friend turned to me and hugged me

I felt included

My classmates used my name over a derogatory slur

A teacher respectfully asked me about my culture

I felt important at the new school

My mind was flowing with happy thoughts

A fake grin was no longer plastered upon me

The transfer jump started my mental health

It blossomed my thoughts into plentiful compliments

Happiness sprang through me like a butterfly

Everything was different

A new change in environment allowed me to break

Break out of my shell

Reform myself into the unstoppable force I am today

My want is to help others see their potential as well

People need People
