People Pleaser

Being a people pleaser is harder than it may seem,

I have to think about you, you, and you before me.

I love it though I wouldn’t change that part of me at all,

it takes someone strong to think of myself little, and everyone else tall.

It hurts me more to see myself happier than someone else,

that’s why I carry the burden of helping everyone on myself.

It tears me apart constantly inside,

carrying guilt that doesn't subside.

I need to please everyone I really do, because helping you helps me too.

I can wake up every morning and feel good

knowing I helped someone who was just misunderstood.

This may sound odd, but this is what makes me flawless

being that girl that's always cautious,

thinking of you more than you know

but its for your own good, it isn't a show.
