The People we Encounter

There is a time

In life

Everything seems fine.

Joy,

Of playing with a toy.

In kindergarten,

Heartbreak

causes my heart to harden.

A friendship lost

Seems so much cost.

At such a young age

At first came rage.

Then tears,

My best friend is no longer my best friend.

I move away

A buffet

With new people

To meet.

As time goes by I start to lose fear,

Meeting new people

Is what makes me,

ME.

No longer do I wait

I say “hey”

If  a friendship does not last I no longer cry,

I say bye.

It is meant to be

To fly as a bee.

Flowers

Are different from each other.

As people are from one another.

The lasting impact

Is what is makes me interact.

People have taught me it is ok to let go

For a new fellow.
