Perception

Perception is everything, in this short life

Especially for those who know only strife

You are who you chose to be

Yet some still chose misery

Self pity and anger overtake them whole

They let it consume their entire soul

Fairness and justice don't exist

Yet isn't that this life's gist?

The ability to overcome and rise above

And always remembering to love

Forsaking your illusion of what you ought to receive

You'll be amazed at what you can achieve

For these reasons I chose to stand tall

Perception is everything y'all
