The perception of beauty

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder They say But what is the true definition Of beauty? Is it perceived by looks and money? Or is it who they are, truly.? When People say I'm beautiful, all I see is ugly scars. When people say I'm ugly, All I see is love that resides in me. I'm both ugly and beautiful Yet a kind and sad girl. In my eyes I behold The ultimate sight of beauty, one's heart, mind and soul, ruling. If someone calls you ugly Ask if they know you, really? For beauty shines within everyone Whether they express it or hide it Just know that words truly hurt, next time you put on a front. Who defines the world's beauty? well each person defines their own, perception. Not you or I, alone.
