The Perch

The warmth all the way to my toes Or the cool, sweet breeze nipping my nose The outside seems so unknown Terrifying, lonely, dark But there is where The inspiration lies Hidden beneath the ground Growing among the plants Rising high with the mountains still frosted with snow My perch giving my the view of everything below Writing flowing from my brain to my hand to the paper Inspiration, the simplest thing If only you are willing To step outside in the dark Where anything can become And discover Exactly what you need to recover The feelings hidden among the bushes Where you can find them if you look
