The Perched Watcher

The blue canary
sings from dawn to dusk
not becoming weary
known as Indigo Bunting

Full of gusto, cheer
but born to be blue
and a mere
four point two

The small winged scrap of sky
whistles its tune in Quintana
for its lovely counterpart coming by
as melodious as Orpheus

The wind whispers to the stout bird
to hear more because
Tweet tweet is not usually heard
