Perennial
Say to the stranger land
Say I wish to be your forest
A natural disposition of life, of living
Where their spirit of being is, oh simply is
Calling to the skies swooping low above the ground
Let me be your eagle
Hear my cries for you
I entwine your soul with these stems
My shell standing still, aging
I am growing taller
Forever a perpetual permanence
Never to be cut down
Oh let me be your forest…
You are never to be harmed in this natural; I will protect you
Say to the stranger land
I wish you mine
Beyond your warm heartbeat lies emptiness
Without creation I would be dry, abandoned, destitute, lifeless
I am but an open space
Waiting for you to claim
Say to you now
I beg you foreign land
Let me be your water
I am permitted to bathe you in the mornings
And call upon a raincloud
Washing your scent away
So when the water freezes over into snow
Then make your bed in the earth
Oh my beloved
Have me surround you.
I say to this land
Let me be your SUN
A flash surrounding you
Burning, blazing, scorching across entire existence
Rising to the highest of peaks
Only to be kindled in the gentlest of smoldering embers
Forgive me but…
You are the life that inhabits the forest
