Perfect
Here I stand
Perfect posture
like you stressed.
My hair kept
nice and neat
Teeth pearly white
oh wait
It isn't good enough
is it?
A/B student
Perfect conduct,
Excellent at sports
Determination like no other.
But it isn't good enough.
I'm sorry I'm not perdect
I try so hard, but
your standards are
TOO HIGH.
Since I was little you told me
where I have no choice
college was my destination
So I accepted it
You are my mother
Mother knows best
right?
Wrong
Fear, manipulation,
itimidation, and LIES.
You lie to sow the seeds in your
PERFECT garden.
Your PERFECT child.
But maybe I'm worng.
A STUPID child
what do i know
I am no adult
I am a child.
Still young and STUPID.
Your high expectations
lowered my self-esteem.
The back of my arms
made me fear people.
The way I walked
made me shut myself down.
My weight, oh lord
You taught me to
FEAR people.
So I did
Now you worry
Everything is wrong
You tell me to go out,
but when I do I am
ACTING OUT.
I realized the truth
far TOO LATE.
You are controlling
I WILL leave you
I WILL be strong
You WON'T hold me
NEVER AGAIN!!!
I will NEVER be someone elses toy.
You WILL vanish to dust
and I will grow beyond your reach.
LIKE YOUR STANDARDS!
