Perfect

Fingers strain Shoulders burn Spine convulses Stomach churns Heart howls Fiery eyes bore into her String stretches Wood groans Arrow quivers Silence roars Time falls away Fiery eyes bore into her No good No better No hope No time No point Artemis screams - a cry of self frustration Arrow soars Bear flees Muscles gasp Gut writhes Tears flow As Artemis collapses in self loathing, a silver doe steps into the moonlight. The clearing glows with her beauty. New fiery eyes bore into her The doe stays a moment longer before melting back into the trees... and revealing a lame and twisted leg. Artemis gasps, sobs, and weeps with the realization that no one, not even her, could ever hope to be perfect.
