The Perfect Armchair

The armchair sits motionless, Unsmiling yet ever inviting, Calling out to my heart in strange ways; Ways unbeknownst to me. Moving me, stirring up weird and wonderful desires. Desires to sit between those loving arms, To feel warmth and comfort around me And lean my back against those arms. Desires to snuggle up against the belly of this wonderful creation, My head on its shoulder; To feel the loving safety flow over me, As it does each time I sit there. Desire to fall asleep in that sweet haven, As I have so many times before. That unsmiling, unmoving, but ever inviting face Of that wonderful being; Oh the emotions and longings it stirs up. All these wishes are so strong And my will so weak. I want to succumb to them, Want to feel all those familiar sensations So I do.
