The Perfect Example

What does it mean to set a good example?

Would you take the eternal gamble

And live selfishly through pleasure,

Or would you treat your life as if it was another's treasure?

There once was a Man who spoke of a deep parable

In which a poor man was beaten beyond measure.

Of the three people who by his path came,

Only the last, unexpectedly, gave aid.

Now think to yourself, "Would I have done the same?"

Or would you have left him to die where he laid?

We all must let go of the passions God forbade,

Replacing them with good deeds done in His name.

Think of the sinless life which Jesus Christ paid,

And be a Light unto others, as He would do the same.
