The Perfect Filter

The world describes using filters

and wearing makeup

as a way to hide our true selves from the world

They believe a girl who wears a ton of makeup

Can't stand how she really looks

or a boy who hides behind filters

can't stand to be out of the darkness

When in reality

I wear makeup and use filters to make myself happy

I see no shame in who I am

But I can tell a bad picture from a good one

I see no reason to not use the tools we are given to enhance a photograph

Behind the makeup and the filters

I'm exactly the same

#Nofilter is no longer just a hashtag,

but a way to show superiority over those who do use filters

Yet, it all just boils down to true happiness.
