The Perfect Girl

The Perfect Girl

By: Clive Stampp II

It started the very first moment that she was conceived

God had given me a new purpose, a new reason to breathe

Created was a new passion, a new light in my eyes

A new face to hold close whenever she cried

But at the very point in time, little did I know

That I wouldn’t have much farther to go

Actually, I met her on the street that very same day

When she took what was left of my breath away

I asked her for her name and as she raised her head

I didn’t even hear a single word that she said

To ignore her was not my plan, nor my choice

But, I was captivated by her beauty, in love with her voice

Her eyes looked like two pearls found in the very depths of the sea

And her voice made me swoon, every time she spoke to me

I asked her out to dinner, “it’ll be the most romantic date ever”, I said

“And when we are done, don’t you dare reach for that check”

So even though, at this moment in time we just met

In my heart, I’m filled with so much regret

That it took me so long for me to find you in this world

I'll love you for forever and always, because you're the perfect girl
