Perfect Glass
Perfect glass shatters in my hands
A million pieces fall, never to be put back together
Glueing it, melting it,
apologizing
as if words can make glass whole again
I hate that, I want the glass to be fixed so bad
Cutting up my hands picking up the pieces
Crying till I’m blue in the face
I feel too deeply
Deeper than the cracks in the glass
I think and think, till my eyes are shallow with life
Why can’t I fix it? Why did I say it?
I wish I could sew my mouth, stitch after stitch
My hands now scarred won’t re open
My heart, somehow whole, must stay quiet
Till nobody remembers my evil soul.
