A Perfect Life
Awake, 4 am in some apartment in Europe.
Sitting on the kitchen floor eating Chinese takeout with the love of my life.
whoever that may be.
Travelling every two months, a life for my times.
I'm a rolling stone.
So serene is it to sink in someone's culture.
Someone's happiness.
My life is a sunflower pulled by the wind.
Skin to skin my daughter holds my hand,
only for me to let her go as she keeps going.
My other half sheds a tear,
whipped away by my shaking, loving hand.
Old as time, we begin to wilt.
Had done everything, seen so much.
I leave my fingerprints in my books.
I leave my mark on the world.
As it leaves prints on me.
Truly, this, was my perfect life.
