Perfect maturity
Does it make you feel better?
To deny your flaws in search of
someone else's?
In hopes that maybe they will discreetly
conceal your own?
Does it make you feel better?
To never take account for your actions
and instead consistently regard the minor
errors in others lives?
Does it make you feel responsible?
Does it make you feel stronger?
Does it make you feel cleaner?
Or does it just make you ignorant?
To reality?
To your character that you keep shoving in a closet
in hopes that you might clean it up later?
Please, we all know what happens to the dirt under the bed-
It just accumulates into nothing.
Do you realize the injustice?
To yourself?
To the person you could become?
To the potential you have?
To the level of success you could meet?
Why can't you understand?
Don't you understand?
I guess not.
It would take perfect maturity to.
And the first step is to look in the god-blessed mirror
and wipe away the layers of disbelief and denials
that are clouding your reflection.
Wake up.
Life is here,
And it is not patient.
